Things to do in Auckland – Pine Harbour

I have had a very pleasant afternoon at the Pine Harbour Marina today. Nestled in the coast near to Whitford and just around the corner from Beachlands this marina offers a sheltered harbour for a number of pleasure craft. The marina area has a couple of excellent cafe’s/restaurants a hair stylists and ship chandlery store amongst others.

Tucked away in one of the shop fronts, is a collection of yesteryear racing cars. A visit to Pine Harbour is one of those things to do in Auckland on a nice sunny day

The marina is also the terminus for the Pineharbour Ferry that runs from downtown Auckland. They also offer other services visiting islands in the Hauraki gulf like, Matiatia (Waiheke Island) and Rakino Island, all of which are great things to do in Auckland.
The Auckland commuter service runs on a regular timetable throughout the day from 6.20am till 6.40pm for approx $NZ21.00 return per adult.

What a great way to explore a portion of the Auckland – Waitemata harbour, enjoy a relaxed lunch or drink and return on the ferry. There really are a whole host of things to do in Auckland on one of the “city of sails”, Auckland’s, awesome days.
The pineharbour ferry service has become a vital link with the city and this part of Auckland. Cutting the comute time in half at least. Auckland being the narrowest party of the country, forces the urban sprawl to go either north or south. Pine Harbour is in the south eastern area and whilst road access is good the area is still very rural.

A few metres up the road from the marina, is the Formosa country club and golf course.

Thinks to do in Auckland

I had a lovely afternoon and recommend you check it out, if at a lose end and looking for things to do in Auckland.

I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any recommendations for newbie blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.
